Since 2019, vPOOL has been a proud member of Faber Group - a traditional family business from the Netherlands that was founded in 1891. Open pooling, used by vPOOL, is a system for reuse in which reusable exchangeable load carriers circulate amongst unspecified number of system participants. Due to the exchangeability of the load carriers, ‘normal’ ownership is replaced by the ‘right of return’ of a similar load carrier.

Our aim is to constantly expand our range of standardised products and services - with the aim of sustainably increasing the positive environmental impact of our work and that of our customers. We think beyond our day-to-day business: we actively support local organisations and promote social projects in our region to give something back. At the same time, we create a working environment that is characterised by fair conditions, transparent communication and diverse development opportunities. Sustainability is firmly anchored in our corporate strategy. That is why we are continuously improving our processes, increasing our efficiency and doing everything we can to minimise our ecological footprint.

We work with many partners to provide our customers with a wide range of high-quality products and services. We work closely with producers and manufacturers to meet the needs of the food industry. A key part of our services is cleaning empty crates so they can be reused again. We work with large retail chains and retailers, as well as smaller producers. These producers have very specific hygiene requirements for their load carriers. To make sure everything goes smoothly, we also work with freight forwarders. This means that reusable load carriers can be released and collected quickly. This helps avoid unnecessary empty runs and is an important step towards making the supply chain more efficient and sustainable.

By avoiding single-use packaging, waste can be significantly reduced and costs cut for everyone involved in the supply chain at the same time - because no company has to purchase its own load carriers. The idea behind pooling pursues precisely this goal: it efficiently combines demand and surplus of load carriers in order to shorten transport routes or avoid unnecessary journeys altogether. This saves our customers valuable time and resources that they can invest in their actual core business - instead of in the organisation of the supply chain.

But that’s not all. Our heart beats for excellent service and comprehensive expertise in load carrier management. We offer our customers comprehensive advice, including a needs analysis, in order to understand their requirements precisely and develop customised logistics concepts. We manage a wide range of robust, stackable and dimensionally stable load carriers - including E-(performance) crates, smart big boxes and reusable H1 pallets. In this way, we ensure that products reach supermarket shelves reliably, punctually and sustainably - not only in the D-A-CH region, but also in Italy, Spain, France, the Netherlands and Poland.

Our passion for load carriers

Have you ever stood in the supermarket and wondered how all the products get there? Then we have an answer for you: vPOOL is part of this solution. We take care of the so-called pooling of load carriers. This means that we provide pallets and crates that are needed for transporting goods. With vPOOL, companies no longer have to buy their own crates and pallets or worry about managing them - they can simply share them. This works by exchanging or renting, which is efficient and good for the environment. Everyone involved in the supply chain - from the manufacturer to the retailer - can use the same load carriers. Let’s imagine Mr. Becker, a food manufacturer who regularly delivers goods to his customers. Usually, the logistics service provider’s truck would drive back empty after delivery - a so-called empty run. Thanks to vPOOL pooling system, this can be avoided: Instead of driving back empty, vPOOL uses the return trip to collect empty crates that are already available from Mr. Becker’s customers. To do this, vPOOL uses its large network to find another vPOOL customer near Mr. Becker’s customer who currently needs empties. This means that the empties are sent directly from the original recipient to another vPOOL customer - without any detours. This shortens transport routes, avoids empty runs and significantly reduces CO₂ emissions.
