Michal Kunce,
PAKi Operations Manager CEE

True satisfaction at work comes when you connect your daily actions to a bigger purpose.

Michal Kunce thrives on leading diverse teams and building efficient pallet networks across Central and Eastern Europe. He enjoys the variety and international scope of his role and values the teamwork that makes success possible. His focus on people and processes enables him not only to deliver reliability for customers, but also to support the growth and sustainability ambitions of PAKi and Faber Group.

‘Every efficient pallet flow is a step towards
a more sustainable supply chain’

“I see my main impact in shaping the growth of our region, especially through establishing the Warsaw office and my team. By ensuring efficient pallet flows, optimising routes and working closely with service providers, we make supply chains both reliable and sustainable. At the same time, I focus on developing my team and fostering collaboration across functions. In this way, I contribute to regional growth while supporting Faber Group’s ambition to create sustainable, future-oriented logistics.”

And how do you feel you are carrying impact when it comes to the development of the company and the business?

“Since joining in 2021, I’ve had the chance to grow through both responsibility and support. Training, coaching and regular feedback have helped me step into greater leadership roles. Beyond that, working internationally with different teams and cultures gives me new perspectives every day. Faber Group also encourages initiative and innovation, which motivates me to test ideas and develop further. Knowing the company invests in its people makes me confident about my future growth here.”

How does Faber Group offer you opportunities for personal development, learning and growth?

“Collaboration across countries is a key driver of our success. We work closely with sales, procurement and other departments, sharing knowledge daily to keep processes efficient and customer service reliable. Our international setup means we naturally work across cultures and languages, turning diversity into practical solutions. For me, collaboration is about combining strengths across borders to drive growth, efficiency and long-term success.”

How do you collaborate to achieve results?

‘Reusing pallets is more than efficiency – it is our contribution to a greener future’

“Sustainability is built into pallet pooling. By reusing pallets, we save raw materials and avoid waste, which supports our mission to provide circular load carriers. My team and I optimise transport routes to cut emissions and make operations greener and more efficient. In Central and Eastern Europe, there is clear potential to expand while making supply chains more sustainable – and that is what motivates me.”

And how does your job contribute to the sustainability ambitions of Faber Group?

“Our role is to guarantee smooth supply chains by ensuring pallets are available where and when needed. This reliability is essential for customers. At the same time, we constantly optimise transport routes, combine loads and explore alternatives to reduce both costs and emissions. With teams in Ennepetal and Warsaw, we combine regional proximity with the strength of the PAKi network. This approach delivers efficiency, flexibility and long-term value for customers.”

How does your job add value to the supply chain and to the business of customers?

‘ The mix of challenges, teamwork and international scope makes this role unique’

“What I enjoy most about my role is the variety it brings. Every day comes with new challenges – from improving processes and testing new ideas to working with colleagues across different countries. The international setup, combined with strong teamwork, makes the job both dynamic and rewarding. I also value the chance to travel and connect directly with colleagues and partners. These experiences show me how our work creates tangible results for customers while contributing to more sustainable logistics.”

What do you like most about your job?

“As Operations Manager CEE, I lead Customer Service and Logistics Service with around 15 colleagues between Ennepetal and Warsaw. Our focus is to move pallets efficiently and reuse them as often as possible. My role combines daily operational tasks – route optimisation, planning and customer support – with the strategic development of the region. I am also responsible for building our regional network and managing service providers in close cooperation with other departments. At the same time, I focus on developing my team, supporting training and ensuring collaboration across functions.”

Can you tell us more about your main job responsibilities?

“I joined PAKi in November 2021 after being approached by a headhunter. At that point, I was ready for a new challenge and was impressed by PAKi’s role in the pallet pooling industry. The business model combines efficiency, international scope and sustainability. What convinced me most was the chance to take responsibility for operations in Central and Eastern Europe and to grow within a dynamic, forward-looking company. From the very beginning, I felt trusted and supported with training and development opportunities, which allowed me to quickly take ownership of my role and contribute to the growth of the region.”
